Barsaat was directed by Raj Kapoor and was written by Ramanand Sagar in R.k Films production house . This was the second top hit movie of Raj kapoor. It stars Raj Kapoor, Nargis and Prem Nath Barsaat was the highest grossing film in Indian cinema at that time. It was black and White movie in Hindi language.

This movie is about two friends, Pran and Gopal, who go to a hill station. Pran, a poet, falls in love with Neela, while Gopal, who is wealthy, falls for Neela's friend, Reshma. The story is about love, sacrifices, and dealing with society's rules. The movie has great music and is a classic romance. In this Shankar Jaikishan has composed music and after this movie his career was also established.
